Although some skills may be similar, a Life Coach is not a Counsellor, Therapist, Mentor or Consultant. The main difference of a Life Coach is that they help you focus on your future possibilities and not your past mistakes. After all,
you cant change the past
Coaching will assist you to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you would like to be. As much as you can do this yourself, it is suggested that working with a Life Coach makes the process much more effective.
A good coach will:
- Assist you to create practical, step by step action plans to reach your goals.
- Provide on going support through any changes or obstacles you may encounter.
- Provide you with tools, techniques and strategies to create lasting chnage and success.
Most importantly, a good Life Coach will help you unlock your potential, maximise your performance and get the results you are hoping for as you move forward, left foot right foot, 1 step at a time.
If you aren’t comfortable with, or can’t afford a Life Coach, then all is not lost. You can still move forward and there are many, many tools available that can help you plan and progress such as journaling and keeping a diary.
